While Jesus is the means of our salvation, God’s plan has always involved the church (Ephesians 3:10). Scripture shows that churches have different degrees of health, however – some are healthy, some sick, and some even dead. The early church (in Acts 2:42) is one of the strongest illustrations of a healthy church – a church that turned the ancient world upside down. What does God think about the church in our generation? Does she reflect His original plan? God is still looking for churches that will turn the world upside down, but this will only happen as we build our churches around what He likes rather than what we like. She is God’s church, not ours.
Welcome to a series which I hope will really help every one of us watching as well as those watching online to find out what God's plan is for the church. It's probably one of the most misunderstood things in our time. As we dig into this over the next few sessions of this series, you're going to be looking at different aspects of church life.
I really trust that as we learn about the Bible together, that we will begin to see exactly what God's plan is and how our lives can align with that. So it's going to be a great series. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Andrew Selley.
So God's plan was always to save the world before He created Adam and Eve. The Bible says that Christ was crucified before the creation of the world. God knew when He made the world that we were going to mess it up, that Adam and Eve were going to fall.
Andrew is the apostolic leader of Four12 (F12) and the lead elder of multisite, Joshua Generation Church. He has been in full-time ministry since 1996.
