Our History

On 16 June 2011, our partnership began with just 35 people in a room, and a dream in our hearts to see God's Kingdom advance and His bride restored to reflect what we see in the New Testament. We longed to answer the call to equip and support leaders and saints to plant healthy congregations and join hands with existing churches to bring them into biblical health.

The Seed of a Vision

When Andrew Selley and his wife Emma planted Joshua Generation Church in 1999, they carried a clear sense that God's intent was for them, alongside the saints, to build church according to the pattern of Scripture. They dreamed that returning to the New Testament model would not only shape their local context but also influence and impact churches far beyond Cape Town and South Africa, changing how the world sees and does church.

Along the way, numerous prophetic words from recognised prophets confirmed that this longing was from God. It was prophesied that Andrew, with his apostolic gifting and spiritual dynamism, would draw people together to co-labour in extending the Kingdom of God and building healthy churches.

Andrew served within the apostolic leadership of NCMI, a first-generation apostolic movement, from 1999 to 2006. Under the leadership of Dudley Daniels, Andrew learned how to live out faith authentically and how to build church according to the New Testament model. This movement played an important role in what was to come.

A Second-Generation Movement

Together with the leadership team of JoshGen, Andrew sensed the Lord speaking to him about starting a new movement. Too much emphasis had previously been placed on the wonder of the apostolic gift, or on theories about how they function, rather than fulfilling their biblical role. As we see in Ephesians 4:12, the purpose of the five-fold gifts has always been to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Therefore, we now see ourselves as a second-generation apostolic movement.

Base Churches and Shared Leadership

After the Four12 partnership was born in 2011, we began connecting with churches around the world who sensed the Lord leading them to be part of this movement. We are grateful for our early partners — Oxygen Life Church, JoshGen, and City on a Hill Church in South Africa, and Living Hope on the Isle of Man — with whom we have since worked to strengthen and restore the body of Christ. These churches have become vital base churches within our movement, serving other churches in our field.

The Lord graciously added Jonathan and Annette Stanfield, Brad and Angela Verreynne, William and Pamela Marias, and Ryan and Lelani Kingsley from these churches to lead alongside Andrew and Emma as apostolic gifts to minister and build into our partnering churches.

Equipping the Saints Globally

In 2012, we were excited to have our first international conference, hosted in Cape Town, South Africa, to equip saints for their work in the Kingdom. This was followed by the Conference on the Isle of Man in 2013. Here, a group of 70 South Africans went over, leaving a lasting impact on the church.

A Season of Increase

In 2020, as COVID-19 locked down the world, the Lord brought an increase to our partnership, adding many churches and opening new nations to us. Amongst those is Living Waters Church in the Netherlands, planted by Peter and Eefje de Korte during lockdown. Today, they have become a base church in Europe, hosting the European Conference for the first time in 2026.

2024 — 2025

Breaking New Ground

Andrew felt the Lord calling their family to the United States in 2024, to break open a new field and serve the churches of North America. In 2025, we hosted our first Conference in North America, a growing field in our partnership.

Brad and Angela also sensed a call from the Lord to move their family to Australia in 2025, to spearhead the work in Australasia, breaking open new nations in that region.

Today

Flourishing & Restoring

Today, we have seen many churches flourish as they grow healthier and more effective in their cities and nations, advancing the Kingdom by planting new congregations. We have also adopted many churches into our field and helped them transition into the biblical pattern of building church and greater health as they aligned with the Lord's ways.

We continue to see saints activated, devoted to Jesus and His bride, with growing faith and faithfulness, rooted in sound doctrine and a clear understanding of who Jesus truly is.

We believe we will see Jesus' perfect plans for His church unfold when every part of the body is able to do its unique work. Today, we are privileged to partner with churches in 24 nations across the world, striving together for a restoration of New Testament Christianity as we see it in the Scriptures.
